Johnson Development is a Houston-based residential and commercial land development company founded in 1975. Larry Johnson, President and Founder of Johnson Development, has over 40 years of experience in the real estate development business. He has played an active role in the development of more than 100 projects on over 43,000 acres in Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas. These projects include master-planned golf course communities, townhome and condominium communities, retail shopping and entertainment districts, office buildings and mixed-use commercial centers in both urban and suburban settings. Mr. Johnson began his career in real estate development as the founder of a real estate investment and development firm which he grew for nine years before merging it into a public company in 1970. From 1970 to 1975, he served as President of a subsidiary of First Realty Investors, directing the development of several projects throughout the United States. Mr. Johnson has also served on the board of several private and publicly held organizations, including Underwood, Neuhaus & Co., Inc. of Houston, a member of the New York Stock Exchange and the oldest investment banking firm in Texas, and Fuller Real Estate Services, Inc., a Texas-based full-service commercial real estate firm. He has served on the Board of Regents of Texas Tech University and Texas Tech Health Science Center and he has been awarded the position of lifetime director of The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Johnson Development Corp. is well known for the development of several master planned communites in the Greater Houston area including Sienna Plantation, Tuscan Lakes, Woodforest, Riverstone, Edgewater, Fall Creek and Silverlake.
